Hello Families of Northside!
We have seen the Lord working in so many ways through our family ministries it has been humbling and awesome to be a part of. In an endeavor to keep an open line of communication with you we wanted to provide an update to what is going on in the Northside Kids Ministries. As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns you are always welcome to contact me (Matt Moore) directly.
- No More Hangout: The first announcement is a rough one. We have enjoyed providing The Hangout for kids whose parents attend a service and then serve at another one. This has been a very lovely luxury for us. However, with Easter coming up fast it has become apparent in our preparation that we no longer have the space for The Hangout. As we toiled over where we could possibly eek out the space there was simply no where acceptable. We will discontinue The Hangout starting this weekend.
- Transitioning to Loading Dock (formerly Treasure Hunt): In our preparation for the Easter surge and our continued growth it has become apparent we need to utilize our space with more efficiency. The Social Side will become “overflow” area permanently on Sunday mornings starting two weeks before Easter (3/17). We will move Elementary (1st-5th grade) to a newly renovated “Loading Dock”. 3’s, 4’s, and 5K (all of which will be referred to as “Pre+K”) will be in the current Northside Kids LIVE space. WOW! It’s a lot, but it will be an overall better place for us.
- Kids ON STAGE for Easter: This Easter we will be featuring the Kids Ministry by bringing kids on stage (5yr olds through 5th grade) in the main sanctuary for a worship song. The song will include hand motions! Video of the hand motions below! Please try to arrive a little early on Easter so we can have everyone in place for the presentation. Other than this the morning will be “business as usual”.
- Memory Verse Sunday: THIS SUNDAY IS MEMORY VERSE SUNDAY! We have seen some awesome engagement with this new initiative. The first month saw 60 kids memorize the Bible verse for the unit! Of course, this works best if you “Make it a Family Thing” and do it together. We will continue celebrating scripture memory with prizes and encouragement. Remind your kids that this Sunday is another opportunity!
It is an honor to be a part of this faith community and serve your family. You all have some lovely and special children. Thank you for trusting us with them. We take the responsibility very seriously.
In Him,
Matt Moore
